Popular Edition Sheet 144 Plymouth with British System Grid.

Specimens of sheets with the original British System grid, in which references repeated every 50 km, are uncommon, whereas those with the Modified British System are well-known. It seemed useful, therefore, to present an example so that all the details of the grid overprint can be seen. This particular sheet appears to be printed on a form of waterproof paper, despite it predating by some years the introduction of Place's Waterproof Paper on civil maps. Now deposited at Cambridge.
