This is a WD-only version of Hants 83.11.10 printed October 1879.

When first surveyed in 1861 the Cambridge Barracks and Clarence Barracks had been immediately adjacent to the belt of fortifications around Portsmouth. By 1874 these had been cleared away. What was drawn in 1879 were the tree-lined avenues that had replaced them. In the SE corner of the sheet, additional barracks were under construction.
