This is a WD-only version of Hants 83.7.19.
About half the area of the map is taken up by the Royal Dockyard, which was deleted from the sales edition - see https://maps.nls.uk/view/231279411. The area west of the Mast Store is a prize example of 1:500 incomprehensibility. We have solid lines showing railway tracks, pecked lines showing the stone tracks for the massive carts that moved masts in and out, more pecked lines for the overhanging roofs of the Store Houses, and yet more pecked lines for the stone gulley that carried the rain water from those Store Houses to the Sewer Grates (SGs). Any corrections to this interpretation are welcomed.
The MS additions consist of a line of trees along the edge of The Hard, bottom-centre. The printed sales edition was duly updated so that the good citizens of Portsea could enjoy this underwhelming improvement to their map.
