The base map is Hants 83.7.7, revised in 1874.
Not that the revisers had much to show: perhaps some shifting in the shoals flanking the Forton Lake channel, something shown more clearly on the 1:2500. A copy of the base map is at https://maps.nls.uk/view/229916064. There was no separate WD version at that date, although once the additions had been drawn in red it was thought necessary to apply a 'WD only' stamp. Those additions amount to a portion of a pier, drawn perhaps to 1:2500 standards rather than to 1:500 standards. This disappears off the north edge of the map, so a portion of 83.7.2 is provided as an inset to show the end of the pier. The map was printed but without the inset - a copy is at https://maps.nls.uk/view/229916061 - and was graciously placed on public sale should anyone actually want it. 83.7.2 with the end of the pier seems never to have been printed.
Incidentally, whoever drew the index map seems to have seized on the "83.7.2" that appears on the inset and to have assumed that applied to the whole map, which in consequence he drew in the wrong position.
